My question: When replacing the Feeder Jaw Clutch is it advisable to also replace the 6 Belleville spring washers that preload the jaw clutch? How do I know when the spring washers are ready for replacement?

Depending on the baler model the tension system relief vavle determines how much pressure is built in the system. 2400 is the maximum pressure for a 648. I am wanting to purchase a new round baler. I am looking at a New Holland BR7070 baler and a Vermeer 604 Super M. I currently have a twine tie Vermeer 504SI baler that is pretty simple to use. When I compare the NH to the Vermeer, it looks like the NH is much more complicated and has many more parts that may need replaced in time.

It is not necessary but will make the job a lot easier. If you do not want to remove the belts, then after removing the tension from the belts and push the sledge frame all the way forward, remove the follower roll scraper support and the follower roll.

Replaced gears and bearings in sledge roller this spring.The rolls on the 600 series balers are generally wedged in tight in the sledge frame, but in the BR balers there is more clearance and the follower roll and scraper may fall out when the bolts and roll supports are removed.
