2 months ago I made 5 PF tek jars. 3 never did anything - no growth, no mold. 1 got moldy and the last one grew insanely slow. I still have that one like 2 months later and it isn't fully colonized still. There's no bad smell that I can smell through the holes on top.

Feb 1, 2024 · I started my PF Tek jars about 50 days ago. They've been a bit slow but I think the jars were packed a little too tight plus its winter, so I expected them to be a little slow. I think they're nearing about the time to start fruiting conditions. Ive never done this before and I feel like there's only so much you can learn from online forums. The PF TEK is basically a brown rice method with an improved formula by using vermiculite as a base and adding pulverized brown rice. The secret is in the vermiculite. When mycelium is cultured in just grain, the mycelium turns into a mass with little air space. But when grown with vermiculite, the mycelial threads stretch across space. From the PF Tek, Chapter 2.
