If anything, the fuel door sensor would not be on the LX/EX, as they don't have the power sliding doors (and thus a need for a sensor to check if the fuel door is open). -Charlie. I'm going to closely examine the left and right pinch sensor for damage when I get home from work (van's at home). But, if I see no obvious damage, it would seem useful to disconnect one or both pinch sensors to see if the door might then open / close -- i.e. try and see if this is the issue, and if it is the issue, determine which sensor is bad.

Aug 5, 2016 · In case anybody else reads this thread, the symptoms of a broken fuel door switch are: 1. Driver's side passenger door won't open 2. Passenger door lock doesn't work with the fob, the switch, or manually. 3. The lock on the door bounces back when you try to unlock it. Holding it for 1 or 2 seconds will keep make it stay in the unlocked position. 4.
To be able to unlock and open the door, we have to physically pull the sliding door latch up to unlock and keep it up, then pull the sliding door manually open. The local mechanic diagnosed and replaced the Latch Assembly (L Sliding Door 72650-SHJ-A22). This cost us $470.
