Well I only got through the prologue act and I refunded the game from Steam. The patch is great and it served its purposed, but the PC port of the game is pretty terrible. The game actually ran fine smooth fps and no crashes or bugs, but the graphics looked terrible and there is no 4K support.

I played Hajimari and Kuro No Kiseki with patches, but even the very simple instructions were a challenge for me (though I was ultimately successful). Meaning. I downloaded the K2 patch listed above, then I pasted everything into the K2 game, but it didn't effect it at all. This Japanese release is the published by NISA and apparently the fan translation patch is now compatible with it (only hangup, I hear, is Steam Deck support being broken by the patch). So NISA now gets money if people buy the better of the two ports to apply the patch to. Otherwise I would agree with you that NISA loosening up would make no sense.

After that, it’s Reverie and then on to Kuro no Kiseki. I noticed that there are two releases for this game on Steam: one by NISA and one by Clouded Leopard. The NISA release seems to carry a $10 price difference versus the CL version. On a whim, I decided to pick up the NISA release to have the full collection of Trails games.

Today is the release of the Japanese version of Kuro no Kiseki, and it is the first port to use a lot of new infrastructure we at PH3 built up over the past year or so. That infrastructure includes things like asset compression and platform handling, mundane features like logging and crash reporting, and dealing with game settings.
