I returned the Xumo box today because this feature is missing. It's much easier to see, when playing back a recording on a set top DVR, where the ads end and the program resumes. This is a feature that streaming services offer in addition to not needing to pay extra for cloudDVR service or local broadcasting.
Just replaced a DVR and a HD box with two XUMO devices. Encountering strange issue: when I am watching a tv channel and using the round Navigation pad - click on "3 o'clock position " bring up the guide on the right side of the screen and select a different channel (or exit it back to the same channel), the sound volume is normal for about 1 second, then is extremely soft for about 30 ...The cloud DVR app is a problem with the entire cloud function, unrelated to Xumo (problems with all devices including Roku). I haven't had any issues with my Xumo personally and no issues installing them until the Xumo outage today affecting their sign up page. Roku is a great option though.In my opinion the app is much better on the Xumo, channels change faster and the guide is smoother. The advantage of Xumo over using Roku is that you can enter a channel number on the remote control, and overall the remote control does a better job of controlling your TV and receiver volume and on/off. Navigating the cloud DVR service is clunky. But no different than the Roku.Hello @KellyAlex62. Welcome to our community! Currently the Xumo does not have a traditional Picture in Picture feature, though it is possible that it will be added in a future update since it was just added into our app on iOS and Android devices. The Xumo would use the smaller PIP window if you are watching something and navigate to the guide, but it will only show on the guide page.The Xumo does have numbers on the remote along with voice commands which can be easier to use than most remotes that come with streaming devices. As for the cloud DVR you would need to subscribe specifically to cloud DVR service. The Xumo box just facilitates everything by putting the Spectrum app, Xumo app etc, Live TV guide in one box ready to go.
