The pinch detect goes through the DFI and if the DFI fails so does the pinch detect circuit leading one to think its the actual contacts being the problem when it isn't totally if the contacts are corroded. To add, the sensor is two $.01 pieces of plated metal that get litter basically dumped on them with every cycle. So they corrode / get dirty and give tons of false pinch alerts.
