P0882 and truck stuck in 4th means you are not getting 12V power from the Trans Relay (in the Totally Integrated Power Module [TIPM]) to the trans. The PCM sends a signal (at startup) to tell the Trans Relay to close, which then feeds 12V power to the trans. Might be best to have your dealer diagnose. He said it's not exactly a common problem that they see but they have done plenty of valve bodies on the 66RFE and 68RFE with good success. The cause: about 100K miles prior, 5th gear had come off. The repair performed involved a thrust washer. The thrust washer came off, went through the gear case and was caught on the magnet on the bottom of the tranny case.
