Recently the local JD dealership called and informed us that the tractor is in need of a new transmission (been at the dealer for nearly 6 months).
I have one for about 20 years now. I only use the hand throttle to maintain pto rpm. Use the shuttle shift for forward/reverse. Select the gear you want using the foot clutch or when changing ranges and just let the clutch out. Then select direction with the shuttle. I think the problem is that a clutch pack still is getting oil when in park thus making the tractor move in park. when the tractor is in park the gear selector valve it out all the way.
