My Begara B14R headspace is .0415". I determined this by making a brass cylinder with a rim and machining the rim thickness down until the bolt would close. I ordered the bolt shim kit and intend to add a .002" shim to bring the headspace down to .040". I recently picked up a BA (steel) Begara B14R, installed it in an MPA Hybrid chassis, and topped it with Burris XTR Signature rings and a Vortex Viper PST Gen II. It has a Sparrow suppressor. the trigger is the stock trigger. I just ordered a Timney Hit for it. The stock trigger is heavy somewhere north of 2 pounds.

My friend bought a cz 457 with a Bravo chassis, arca rail and mdt grnd bipod. I'm just going to keep my stock for now. I see people having magazine issues with the krg chassis.The B-14 R is built on Bergara's HMR (Hunting Match Rifle) stock. It's the same stock used in its HMR centerfire rifles. The B-14 R is available as a complete rifle with Bergara's HMR stock or as a barreled action. At press time, rifles are on retailer's shelves, and Hanus says barreled actions should join them by March 2020.

Well, I owned a steel Bergara that would shoot nice tight 2-3" groups at 100 yds with quality ammo. Scoped the barrel and found many pits in it. Sent it back to Lawrenceville, GA where they recut the crown. Wow, then it shot 2" groups. I sold it. My 457 Varmint shoots 1/2" groups at 100 yds with SK Rifle Match. Love it, but my B14R has become a black hole for money. Both the CZ and Bergara are great rifles and depending on what your use case is, they can both be configured to whatever form you want. The B14r is chunkier and handles like a full size center fire so the 457 CAN be lighter if you want.

Not a direct comparison as my BMR is a .22lr and my Tikka is a .17hmr, I like the BMR as is with only a trigger improvement but the Tikka factory stock had to go. Both are sub MOA rifles with the .17hmr shooting slightly smaller groups which one would expect. The Bergara now wears a smaller Athlon 4-16x scope.Here is why: The real “advantage” of the Tikka is you can shoot NRL22 in Base Class and still have room for a decent optic. The use of an aftermarket stock immediately places you in Open Class. The cost of a T1X plus the KRG is not that far off from a B14R barreled action plus KRG. The Tikka is very nice, but is a light rifle.
