according to the capacity charts on gm-techlink the oil capacity has been 10 qts. on both 2019/2020 even though the filters changed. The filter on the 2019 L5D is the smaller filter just like the 2020 L5P and it takes 10 qts. as well. Sep 23, 2023 · 2024 L5P throttle response issues. I just bought a 2024 GMC 2500HD AT4 w/ Duramax. When leaving a stop light there is a slight shutter on acceleration. Is This normal? Also when coming to a stop slowing to a slow roll (about 5-10 mph) I step on the accelerator and the truck takes a solid 5-10 seconds to start responding. It gets 30mpg on the highway at 65mph so I guess if it regens for 7% of the time then it will probably drop to 27 to 28 mpg. Seems drop down to like 22 to 24 mpg when it’s regenerating on the highway.

Came back out and all it would do is crank. No start. Tried a few things that didn’t work then dropped the new GM fuel filter for a look. 18 GMC 2500 L5P. 65K miles CEL came on about 2000 miles or so ago. Truck was running fine and was using DEF normally but CEL keeps returning on a P026D. Changed MAF sensor and inlet temp sensor, CEL still returns. Sep 30, 2017 · The L5P is flat out a better built motor! Go do your research! The L5P has new heads on it that flow much better and a new fuel injection system but the main engine is mainly the same. Main and oil cooling were increased to deal with the extra power.
