I carry Federal HST 124 hp + p in my S&W M&P 2.0 compact - wow what a round! May be a little too much in the M9 (for quick follow ups). Not sure how strong that spring is. That is the way to remove the firing pin from the Micro 9. As noted, make sure you keep a finger over the area so you don't launch the spring.

What I have recently learned, however, is that M*CARBO now makes a spring kit (main spring and firing pin spring) that sells for about $15 and is supposed to lower the trigger pull on a Micro 9 from 6#+ to 3 1/2 to 4#.
