Pathfinder Kingmaker is a lot like that. Pathfinder Kingmaker and the upcoming Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous would be the closest imo, though mechanically character creation is a lot more complex (and customizable) than Solasta's 5e. WotR>Deadfire>Solasta, imo. From a story perspective, I feel like deadfire doesn't even hold a candle to wotr. Deadfire story builds itself as something great and epic, but it slowly drip feeds you and then abruptly ends. Wotr, meanwhile, is amazing from beginning to end. Class/combat-wise I also prefer pathfinder.

I play on a controller almost all the time, theres a few glitches with the incentory thats annoying but otherwise its more fun for me to do it that way. Its pretty optimized for controller play. MnK is definitely better.

Currently, made it to lv 4 in Solasta [default 'normal' difficulty]. Curious how far I will make it. (Turn based makes it managable.) If I die, I die. I finished Kingmaker after about 10 tries (on Challenging) and WOTR only after 3. The satisfaction is well worth the risk. Besides, if I ever reload, Restartitis kills my game in less than an hour.
