The Stealth Arms Platypus is a double-stack 1911, like no other. It’s got a great name and a smart fix for the usually expensive double-stack 1911 magazines, which can go for $50 to $70. Compared to that, a Glock 17 mag is only about $25. Stealth Arms decided to make their double-stack 1911 utilize Glock 17 magazines.

Anyway, many reviews i have read put the Stealth Arms Platypus on par (or better) than Staccato. A guy i shoot with weekly just got his yesterday and says its just as good as the Staccato’s he owns, (C2, CS and P). The kicker is the Platypus (the way i have it configured) is 800-1000 less than the C2.Both the prodigy's were $1400 OTD at a lgs. so $1,000 savings vs the Staccato for me (for 1 Prodigy vs 1 Staccato). Of course now I want the P, cause buy all the guns. Even if I add an EGW ignition kit to the 5", I'd still be $850 cheaper than the P. For some that is pocket change, for others, not so much.
