Ford escape trunk won't open.
A blown fuse could cause this problem. Most likely this is a faulty latch in the liftgate. Since the ajar light is on this tells me the latch is the problem. Once you have the gate open you can test for power when pressing the open button. If you have power and ground then this will verify that the latch is the problem.

Look on the left side of the trunk deck (right side if you're facing it) This is the seat you want: Behind the headrest, in back of the seat proper, is a plastic plug with a certain symbol: Pry it up, and there's a cable loop inside. What I did was bend them out to make them wider so the latch fits in between better. I pulled the battery terminal connection for a few minutes and did a full reset on the vehicle. Seems to be working fine now. Hope this helps.
