RAV4 Hybrid Starting Issues. I have a 2018 RAV4 Hybrid. For the last several months, I've had an issue with it not starting correctly. When you put your foot on the brake and press the start button, the ignition comes on, but not the "ready" light. It's basically the equivalent of having pressed start without having the foot on the brake.97 camry with 229000. The car had an issue with starting and has had the same issue in the past. After cleaning the terminals and posts, it would start no problem. This happened every 6 months or so. It happened recently so I cleaned up the battery connections and it started, ran for a day of stops and restarting.
