Just started looking into this scene because I’m considering just taking my Steam Deck (or any future handheld PC) on trips instead of alternating between my SD and Switch (I’m warning of carrying both at a time for fear of losing everything on a single trip). I have EA 3605, and a bunch of performance mods, and it runs at about 25-30 fps. The biggest difference made for me was unlocking the fps. It runs significantly better than totk at least. I finished it on yuzu on my deck and it wasn't too bad. A lot of work was put into polishing botw in anticipation of totk. Now for some reason totk on yuzu doesn't seem to get much work put into it? It's not just performance, various visual glitches have not been addressed.

If you have a good PC, your best route may be adding Yuzu as a non-steam game and streaming from your PC to Deck. Either use the yuzu emu deck control scheme provided during emu deck installation or disable steam input entirely and let yuzu handle your controller directly. If that doesn't work then I would just take the emu deck yuzu controller profile and edit it to swap the buttons yourself.
