It really depends if you're looking for really intense nightlife or a quiet, relaxing time. Hvar is the former and Brac is the latter. Both offer amazing nature and a rich itinerary in culture and gastronomy. Brac is also better for sports, adventures etc. The view from the Vid's mountain is precious and can't be matched by any view from Hvar.

The decision might be an easy one to make as decent accommodation at reasonable prcie at this late stage will be extremely scarce. Having said that, you cannot go wrong with any island. Mljet is the prettiest though IMO.

Hard to give specific recommendations based on liking history alone as there are lots of options, Split is probably the easiest base as it is the hub for the southern Islands. Lots of pine trees in Biograd all along the beach. However, the beach is not natural pebbles. Soline beach is sandy and the rest are pebbles and in the water, a bot rocky. I know nothing about Jet2 but if you are GOT fans I would choose something in the Dubrovnik area ( Lapad /Babin Kuk). There are filming locations scattered around Croatia ( Split area, Sibenik etc) but Dubrovnik (and surrounds) were the main sets.
